About Me

ABOUT ME

I am an artist obsessed with exploring the whole world! I think the best way to create and live life is in community. I love to learn from other people and explore new places. I am easy going, free spirited, and am excited to encounter beauty in all the places I travel to.

One day I hope to become an art therapist working with people with mental illness or inner city kids. I want to be fluent in Spanish and have my own artistic practice as an abstract painter or a ceramicist.

Interests

I like painting, drawing, creating pottery, exploring, hiking, writing, reading, petting animals, dancing, picking flowers. I like most things, really. I love to meet new people and I love a good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I LOVE MUSIC! Sufjan Stevens, Johnny Cash, Bon Iver,The White Stripes, The Beatles, Sigur Ros, Macklemore, Cold War Kids, Iron and Wine, etc.
Books: I LOVE BOOKS! Too many favorites to name. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Anna Karenina, The Book Thief, The Kite Runner, Til We Have Faces, The Great Gatsby, Confessions by St. Augustine, Poems by e.e. cummings, Pablo Neruda, Robert Frost, T.S. Eliot. Lots of things by C.S. Lewis, and, of course, the Harry Potter Series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been on two African safaris - one on foot, and one by jeep in Kruger National Park. (I was amazed that on our on foot safari our guide prevented a rhino (two yards away and ready to charge us) from attacking simply by waving his walking stick a particular way.)

I've sat down to listen to homeless musicians play the most beautiful music underneath railroad bridges in the middle of the night in the beach towns of Southern California.

The best lessons I ever learned were from Swazi children. Swazi children taught me how to dance, how to love people, and why being barefoot all the time is a way better idea than wearing shoes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Mexico, South Africa, Swaziland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
