About Me

Starting on October 5 2015, I'll be embarking on the trip of a lifetime spanning the course of 30 days and 25 states across the continental United States! Everything kicks off in the hills Massachusetts where I reside and will eventually include many famous, not so famous and off beat landmarks. Some examples are the Grand Ole Opry, the mouth AND source of the Mississippi River, gold prospecting in the California highlands, playing bass with a gospel band and COLORADO!
Obviously this is an intensive journey considering the sheer length of the trip and the time of year chosen however October has traditionally been my favorite month of the year and I'm making up for the past few years where my travels have been severely limited. Currently, I'm single and have no children of my own so this seems like an ideal time to do this.
Seeing that I used to host tourists and Appalachian Trail hikers while running a mountaintop lodge, I have a deep respect for places that I visit and for those that take the time and energy to make my trip more pleasant. I insist on leaving a place as good or better than when I arrive meaning that I'm quite conscious of myself, others and my impact on whatever environment I'm in. Also, I'm never above following instructions while also communicating effectively or by pitching in to help in anyway that I can!
My politics are usually far left as I'm quite liberal and open minded , always questioning and looking for ways to positively build upon what we have...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking back over the years, I've limited myself to exploring local and regional attractions off the beaten path. I've welcomed hikers and travelers from all over the world and heard their stories. Now it's time to expand my frontier and hopefully walk away with countless great memories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I turned an old above ground pool foundation, a lifeless sand pit, into a meticulously laid out garden which went to the top of Reddit.com's gardening forum!
I'm also fairly certain I was the first individual to prove the existence of placer gold in a few streams locally. Small victories
