ABOUT ME

I think (I hope!) my friends would describe me as warm, friendly, helpful, responsible, fun, goofy (at times), restless (in terms of travel and settling down), and curious.

I have been a nomad the last few years, living in the central coast of California and Chile before that, but seem to have found my new home here in Southern California. I spend my time exploring the LA area, exercising, enjoying the beach and various art/musical/cultural events around here. I like both urban life and getting outdoors, which is really easy to do in Los Angeles, especially because I am a 10 minute walk from the beach (living my dream!).

I seem to have an affinity for Latin American culture (the food, language, music, dancing, what's not to love?) and am working on improving my Spanish. I find myself often thinking about the next place to visit south of the border, although my mental list of future travels does include many other countries and continents...the list gets longer the more I travel. I hope I never lose my curiosity for other places and people, that's what keeps life interesting to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all types of movies, foreign films and documentaries are some of my favorites, but have a special affection for goofy, slapstick comedy as well (Steve Martin, Will Ferrell, etc); dramas and thrillers are also fun (like the American, and The Hurt Locker).
Love all types of music (except for American country music), have been listening to the following lately: bossa nova, alternative rock (Kings of Leon, Muse, Florence + the Machine), salsa, classical, hip-hop, pop, etc.
Currently reading AZTEC, by Gary Jennings and La Casa en Mango Street (Sandra Cisneros).
