… 19 years old and I live with my family in Schoppernau – a little village in the “Bregenzerwald” (Vorarlberg). Vorarlberg is situated in Western Austria next to Switzerland. I have just graduated grammar school. (specialised in tourism)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing, because when I'm traelling I want to get to know the culture in this country and I think couchsurfing offers therefore the best opportunity.

Interests

I looooove to ski! As our region is the perfect place for outdoor activities I am very sportive person. In my winter holidays I work as a skiing instructor. I really love this job. It makes a lot of fun although sometimes it´s hard work but it’s worth it. Furthermore it makes me happy to see the progress the kids make even after a few lessons. Being a skiing instructor does not only mean to teach them how to ski, but also to show the kids how to behave in a group and have fun together. Most of the beginners are three years or older and they come from all over the word. I love to show them how to ski, because I love to be around kids and also doing sports.
Furthermore spending time with my friends is very important to me. As I have already mentioned, I am an easy going and open person so I like to go out and have some fun with people.
As outgoing is very expensive I also worked during my summer holidays to gain some money. The last two years I did two work placements in different hotels. Last summer I stayed 10 weeks in Evian (France), where I worked at the reception. Firstly, I learned how to handle with stress and how to stay cool in certain situations. Secondly, team work as well as working independent was very important.
