About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to find my place in this world

ABOUT ME

I am a 22-year-old girl who was born in the Hungarian minority in Transylvania, Romania. My family moved to Austria when I was 3 years old, so I grew up first in a little village and spent my last 12 years in Vienna where I have finished school and started my studies.
As I have grown up bilingual (speaking only Hungarian at home and German at school and with friends), and I have learned English at school, I decided to start Translation Studies. Also, at some point I also evolved a little "obsession" for the Finnish language and culture, which got only stronger after I have started studying it as a minor subject.
From August on I have been doing my Erasmus-year in Tampere, Finland which is about to get to an end by now. It has definitely been the year of my life. I got to know so many people (mostly Finns, but also some other Erasmus-students), loved observing and experiencing the different culture here, had my fights with the Finnish language (who hadn't??) and travelled a lot to see many new places.

At first sight I might convey the impression that I am a little shy but as soon as I've gotten to know the other person, I lose my shyness very fast and become an open person who likes to talk about anything. I love hearing other people's stories and how they got to be the people they are today. I am tolerant, open-minded, always curious, love to get to know different cultures, love music, love being with friends and people, love travelling, like adventures and spontaneous ideas :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The world is sometimes a really small place and nothing is better than having friends all over the world, who can show you around and show them their culture and way of life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fairly new to CouchSurfing and I've had no experiences with it yet. But as a lot of friends have been suggesting it, I'm eager to try surfing myself and maybe also hosting once I have settled down in Vienna again.

Interests

different cultures, ways of life and languages! there is nothing more interesting than discussing about how things are done in different countries!
I love books, music, spending time in nature, going to Finnish sauna, skiing and sleeping in winter :) and being active in summer.
