CURRENT MISSION

As an official "old git" I intend to enjoy every moment of what there is left of my life.Mind you --I've had a pretty good time so far.

ABOUT ME

Part of the baby boomers generation.Fairly laid back about most things.Mildly interested in taking over the world,but not too comitted.Enjoy the output of most comedians.Enjoy (most) practical jokes.Into photography and videos of holidays and travelling.Friends are sick to death of my insisting they watch them.I'm an information junkie and enjoy having snippets of obscure info.Would like to get some sort of order in my life but things are just chaos.Not very tall (172cms) and starting to gain weight but fighting it by standing around saying "got to loose some weight" then having another beer to think about it.AAHH !! start tomorrow.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't take life too seriously.Enjoy what there is.Be who you are and to hell with people who cannot accept that.Do not accept that any religion is real,it's only a way to control our activities.There are no such things as aliens/ghosts/spirits nor flying bloody saucers.Telepathy,precognition and all the other junk that is peddled as real,is a load of cobblers.

Travelling.Photography.Dinning out.Giving and attending dinner parties.Meeting friends.Planning world domination (Sussex chapter)Cinema,theatre,music concerts rock/pop/classical but not ones which involve standing in a muddy field.Not much of a sports-man (watching or doing).Looking forward to hosting as a first activity on couch surfers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like to keep up with most recent releases.Do not like actors who play the same person in every film (clint eastwood is prime example,but I do like his films--yeah! I know that doesn't make sense but there you are it seems logical to me). I like most music with the excption of country and western.I do not wish to hear one more country yokel complaining that his woman has left him for the big city lights.YeeeHA!.
I quite like comedy films,action movies,the Transporter series at the moment is my favourite,much better than a James Bond film.Sci Fi is not too bad, but the Next Generation star trek seems to have lost something--don't quite know what.Forget the Star Wars series.Use the farce Puke!!.
Have not done much reading recently,all time favourite book has to be "Catch 22" with "Thorn Birds" a close second.Currently reading language book to try and become proficient in Italian Starting from the beginning.Also just dragged myself into the 21st century and bought my first home PC so reading lots of Home Vista instruction manuals.This is one example of how I'm doing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Although I am afraid of heights (thank heaven I'm not taller) I have walked along the wing of an aeroplane at 2500ft and jumped off.Luckily someone insisted I took a chute with me,and it worked--terrifying.So I went straight up and did it again.My idea was "kill or cure"-- it did neither.
I was in Sri Lanka on the night that the conflict came to an end.The celebrations were fantastic,and the happiness of most people was a joy to see.I visited the Midway Islands in the 1970's when it was still a US naval station,to do some research on the Laysan Albatross and met a girl from South London who was married to an American sailor.How far do you have to go to get away from fellow Brits ?.
I have watched the sun come up from diamond Head in Hawaii.I watched it set from Shirley Heights in Antigua.(not on the same day!!!)
I met a scottish girl from Edinburgh whilst on hoilday in Shanghai.She is coming to visit me in August.Wish me/us luck.
My most amazing thing done is to have (so far) survived cancer.But don't worry the scar doesn't show.

I don't think I am in any position to teach anyone anything.All I know is a little about life,relating to the bits I have lived,but will not presume to impose these things on anyone.My life is my life, yours is yours.
I do enjoy exchanging views with people even if we do not agree.I have found in the past that some of my opinions have been changed by these chats.
