ABOUT ME

Sveta is a little bit freaky ...ha-ha :) it is like I don't have the happy medium - today I am crazy that everybody around me are surprised about what I'm doing and tomorrow I just sit and do nothing... But the truth is that I am always smiling and laughing... think it is not so bad ;)
Sergey is thoughtful, wise, calm and kind person.
We have moved in together recently and decided to start this new stage for us with 3 weeks trip through USA. We enjoy meeting new people and traveling to new places.

PHILOSOPHY

Live your love today!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We probably can host you (as soon as we have blankets and other stuff for you to sleep on... but if you have your own with you - you are welcome!!!)
Sergey does not have much free time during work days, but I will be very glad to discover :) Rochester with you. I've only been here since the 20th of September 2009. I can show you around the city - we ask Sergey where to go ;) just to meet you for a coffee, put on a map the places where you should go and so on...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been knowing about this community since 2006 http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/sssvetka/
Sergey is a new member here :)

Interests

Sveta: Hmmm.. my interests are.. difficult to say. Like my friends say that with me will be very nice to build up a five-year plan (from USSR history) in the beginning as I can be involved with the head in something and inspire everybody with it ...and than just to become cold about it :)
But nevertheless my interest always were like business, career, history, the future of Russia, psychology, international relationships, mentality of different cultures.
I like the clubs with all night dancing, to go out with tents for several days that nobody could reach this place, to stare at views of my city if i suddenly find myself at the center, to be driven by bus at night, to see that somebody need my smile, fishing, nature, big cities, coffee, apples and so on and so on...
I Don't like to waste my time for sleeping
:)

Sergey: Snowboarding in winter, biking in summer and playing squash all-year-round. Programming for fun.

When I was seven, I could do Rubik's cube in under 2 minutes and I still can do it :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Sveta: Movies- "The Heavens Will Wait" (original-Der Himmel kann warten), "Knoking On The Heaven's Door", "Gvinevra", "On The Verge Of Happiness", "The route 60", "Alfie", "A Beautiful Mind" and etc.
Music i like depends only on my mood- from rock to pop, from electronic music to Russian romances, from r'n'b to rock'n'roll.
I don't like a fashion on books. I don't know how is it in another countries, but in Russia you can see that everybody around you read only Paulo Coelho's, Haruka Murakami's or somebody's else books, because he is a modern poet right now. "and how it can be that you still have not read this book...?" Don't like this...My favorite book is "The little prince". Still like the fairy tails :) Guy De Maupassant, Marina Cvetaeva, Asadov Aduard, Fernando Marias.

Sergey:
Books: sci-fi, fantasy
Music: trance, 80's rock
Movies: Gattaca, Patch Adams, Special

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sveta: Very unexpectedly, even for myself I've left everything back in Russia: 5 years of my graduate studies, my job as an accountant, my friends, the beautiful city of St. Petersburg and came to USA.

Sergey: My friends and I have started an online business together. As my friend put it nicely "this business combines in the most stressful way the things that we like the most: programming and psycology". Our development took 6 months and then 2 more months for BETA-testing, the goal was to launch the site and we've finally did it. Little did we know that the launch was just the first chapter in the "small business book". I am sure there will be many more disappointments, challenges and victories, but overall this has been an amazing experience we are still alive and kicking. It feels fantastic to build something from the ground up and having people using it and thanking us for doing what we do.

Teach, Learn, Share

We want to learn from your experiences, because your experiences are like a magical box - Same person can't be American, Russian, European or be a doctor, a teacher, an engineer and live in Norway or Portugal or Nigeria all this at the same time, but you can easily get all these experiences from others :) Lets teach, lets learn, lets share.
Sveta can teach you to cook traditional Russian food, except for "bliny" that's what Sergey does :)
Sergey can teach you how to solve a Rubik's cube in under 2 minutes :)
