Live and let live
We are Anton and Sveta. Our old Hospitality Club profiles: http://secure.hospitalityclub.org/hc/travel.php?cid=antoncsi and http://secure.hospitalityclub.org/hc/travel.php?cid=shantalova . And then Sveta's CS profile from the old days https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/shantalova
We strongly believe that lack of money should not be an obstacle in the matter of travelling. If a person feels the passion towards the world, wants to discover new lands, and meet new people and cultures - the opportunity should exist. CouchSurfing, Hospitality Club, Erasmus program, WWOOF, hitchhiking - are all opportunities of such kind.
We cannot be stopped if we want to explore the world, and so should not be anyone. (The best thing ever would be if politicians decided to drop the borders - visas do not stop the real criminals from entering other countries and doing their dirty business - visas only make it harder for simple people to travel, but don't let bureaucracy stop you, fill in all the papers, submit whatever they ask you for, and hope for the best, if your dream destination require a visa, or two).
By the will of fate Anton was born in the nowadays non-existent city of Leningrad of the nowadays non-existent country of the USSR - his traveling experience began at the age of 1, when he took his trip home to Hungary. Since then he traveled to numerous destinations of almost every continent, getting an addiction to be on the move whenever circumstances permit.
Sveta is a sub-zero child, born in a small arctic settlement known as Port Providenia - located on the bank of the Bering Strait in the old days it was referred to as "The Gates of the Arctic". In February 1981 a 4-months old girl went on her first trip destined to Ukraine. Traveling immediately became her passion.
Make love, not war.

Our story of hosts/guests began awhile before this profile appeared on the pages of CouchSurfing and dates back to the nineties. We've made lots of friends, saved some lives, had ours saved as well, and are looking for more CS-wonders in the future.
Life, music, parties, concerts, going out with friends, camping, traveling, attending sports events, watching movies, learning languages, reading, writing, story telling, photography, birds (and other living creatures), art, hand-made things, cooking, recycling, tattoo art, and arts in general, also keeping the room clean. 8-) Did we mention hitchhiking?
Music, Movies, and Books
Route 66, The Big Lebowski, Snatch, Kontroll, Csak szex es mas semmi, Szezon, Szerelmesfilm, ARGO (watch it if you haven't!), some of Tim Burton movies, Miyazake animation, old Soviet animated movies etc.
We hardly ever watch horror, it gives us long-lasting nightmares. Trash-horror comedies, on the other hand, are a completely different story! Have you seen Tucker and Dale vs. Evil? Amazing movie!
The Beatles, The Doors, JD&The Blenders, CODY, Presszo Tango Libido, Yonderboi, Joy Division, The Yellow Spots, Masfel, Neo, Zagar, Splean, Nyers, Tequillajazz, Yanni Chrysomallis, Pink Floyd, Tankcsapda, Leningrad, accordion music, listening to Sveta's cousin playing piano.
Sergei Dovlatov, Milan Kundera, Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Arcady Averchenko, Agai Adolf, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For Sveta: Being born in the Arctic is generally an amazing thing (imagine winters with 2-3 meters of snow, where you can build life-size snow houses just to play outside, or seeing Aurora Borealis routinely, every other night, or having polar bears walk into your home town).
For Anton: He promised to think about it and add later! :)
But speaking of our adventures together, it's mostly our travels, the people we meet, the places we see, the things that happen. For example, travelling around Crimea with two backpackers we met along the way. Hitchhiking in winter from Copenhagen to Amsterdam: staying overnite in a truck of Bulgarian driver; getting lifted right to the door of our friend's house, even though the driver was actually going to a totally different direction. Travelling to lake Baikal with Transsiberian railway, visiting Ivolginsk datsan in Buryatia. 2000 km roadtrip around Austria and Slovenia (The Alps, Lake Bled, sea-coast of Venetian Emprire, the world's oldest vine). And many many others. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
We can teach you bits from the languages we speak, or how to cook different simple meals and make hot wine, and many other skills and tricks - what is it that you would like to learn from us?
We constantly learn something, and you might teach us too - to play domino, new card games, juggling, or maybe you can teach Sveta play harmonica!
Sharing is an integral part of process of living, whenever we meet - something is shared, from air and thoughts to food and roof.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Sometimes we would cook you a nice meal, or bring you a souvenir from our country. Sometimes we would arrive so poor and worn out, that we would only have stories to share - but these are great stories, and aren't stories way better than a fridge magnet?
Then, who knows, word by word, as we talk, we might share the exact piece of information you are currently looking for - who knows? Life is unpredictable, and it brings people together for a reason.
So, if you cannot host us, maybe it's not yet meant for us to meet. :)
