learn and learn and learn
I am Svetlomir, currently living in Vienna, but originally from Bulgaria. Now I am starting to study German and probably next year I will start to study in the TU Wien.
I really enjoy traveling and exploring new cultures. Also making new friends around the globe :)
If you meet the right people, the place it doesn't matter at all!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been surfing only once, but I have hosted around 10 people so far. I have always spent great time when I was hosting or surfing somewhere.
My main interests are in the following fields:
Music, Cinema, Video, Environment, Art, Traveling,
Nature, Photography, Books, Internet, History...
- music festivals
Music, Movies, and Books
It is a bit difficult to explain what music I am listen, because there are many different things which I like, and also the music genres are mixing all the time, and this is why I cannot say it with one-two words.
From the electronic music scene I like the experimental artists, also ambient, trip hop, dubstep, drum and bass, acid, IDM. Also some hip hop, etno/world music (in this category also gypsy music), jazz, pop, INDIE, psychedelic rock, dreampop, acoustic, folk, some alternative and rock bands, industrial, funk, soul...etc and etc.
I prefer watching some European or Asian movies. I like the movies of Tony Gatliff, Jean Pier Jeunet, Luc Besson, Fatih Akin, Wong Kar Wai, Kim Ki-Duk...
I like also movies from the middle east.
Some of my favorite movies are: Turtles Can Fly, Bin Jip, Chunking Express, Geggen Die Wand, Gadjo Dilo, Exils.
To read is something which I also like a lot. I am reading fiction, non-fiction literature, some novels and stories. Also it is very interesting for me to read historical books. Some of my favorite books are: Chuck Palahniuk - Lullaby, Haruki Murakami - Sputnik Sweetheart, Einar Mar Gudmundsson - Angels of The Universe, Joe Simpson - Touching The Void, H.A.Tompson - Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, Viktor Pelevin - Chapaev i Pustota.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
--Hiking in the late night in complete dark (after midnight), during a huge storm, to one hot river in Iceland and swimming there.
--Hiking for about 20km, alone, between two glaciers in Iceland without any compass or gps. I know it is stupid but now I am proud of it.
--Hitchhiking around Iceland - making a cirlce around the country for 10 days. Meeting great people on the road, listening funny stories and enjoying the landscape as much as possible.
--I have done EVS (European Voluntary Service) and I think one of the best time of my life so far.
--I spent the summer of 2007 visiting many music festivals around Europe.
Teach, Learn, Share
hmm, I have studied music journalism, so I am very interested to talk about music to someone. I can share my music and my movies.
Maybe teaching you some useful bulgarian words which will help you to travel around the balkans and some other slavic speaking countries. Also I can teach you cyrlic alphabet.
