À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

To infect the world with smiles :)

ABOUT ME

Hey there I'm Thomas. I was born in the UK and grew up in Birmingham. Like most people here I'm interested in meeting new people, especially those who enjoy travelling and making new friends along the way. I graduated from university 3 years ago and soon fell into the monotonous office lifestyle. Desperate to see the world and not the same four walls every day I quit my job, packed my bags and hit the road. I'm currently about to start one year working and travelling around the wonderful country of New Zealand.

I have a warm, friendly and easy going personality. I'm open minded about all the people I meet and all the experiences I encounter. My curiosity has no bounds and I'm constantly willing to learn as many new skills as possible for whatever life throws at me.

PHILOSOPHY

"Slow down, relax and take it easy; enjoy your life"

"Some people are fearful of things and cultures that they do not know of. So educate them; put them at ease"

"Respect everyone to the level you would respect yourself"

"The most beautiful things in life can be discovered by taking the lesser trodden path"

"Follow the crowd and the rules and you will lead an average life"

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Attending Couchsurfing meetings and hanging out with locals and travellers in the places that I visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a Couchsurfing novice, but I'll be actively getting myself out there to as many meetings and activities as possible in the near future.

Centres d'intérêt

People in general, hiking/trekking, football (soccer), cricket, music (listening), traveling (as you would expect), discussion and debate, enjoying a good book, languages, history, badminton, hosteling and camping.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Movies: Edge of Tomorrow, Lord of the Rings, The Dark Knight, Slumdog Millionaire, V for Vendetta, The Pianist, Oblivion.

Music: Muse, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, Oasis, The Kinks, Stereophonics, Noisettes.

Books: Millennium Trilogy, Hunger Games, 1984, Lord of the Files, All Quiet on the Western Front.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Seen: Possibly seeing David Beckham score a long range free kick. It's amazing how far and fast the ball goes when your there, the television doesn't do it justice.

Done: Witnessing a fantastic sunset on the top of "Great Gable" after a long day hiking in the Lake District.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can't think of anything I could "teach" someone except providing you with random historic facts I picked up from my history degree! Learning wise I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano and the clarinet and I've always held an interest (though not the dedication required) in learning languages. If you consider yourself an expert in the above I would be intrigued by your skills.
