ABOUT ME

I graduated from Syracuse University. I have always wanted to work with animals, so I interned at the zoo there, and also worked as a seasonal zookeeper. However, life turns took me away from that, and to NYC. I'm always looking to travel and experience more, which brought me to this site. Sadly I've never been outside the USA or Canada. I hope to change that in the not-too-distant future though!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in making new experiences and really living and trying new things, meeting new people, or just hanging out with friends you already have. I just believe that you should be doing something, because if all you do is work to live, and live to work, then what's the point? There's got to be free time and experiences as well.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am trying to travel more, so I look forward to learning from others on here, and also sharing my experiences, as well as traveling and staying with people when possible. My living arrangements in Syracuse don't allow me to host, but I am more than willing to show people around if they ever pass through, and will provide rides for anyone traveling anywhere near here, if I'm not working.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I gave a ride to a couchsurfer, from Syracuse to Burlington, VT, and I also met up with a girl while I was in Wilmington visiting my sister. She showed me some of Wilmington, then I ended up giving her a ride to Asheville! I also showed a couchsurfer around the SU campus in Syracuse when they were visiting before going there for school. I'm always happy to get to know new people, and am usually up for any kind of new experience or adventure. My couchsurfing experiences so far have been awesome, and I can't wait to meet more people in my travels.

Interests

Animals, first and foremost, hanging out with fun people no matter what I'm doing. I'm from the country, so I love the outdoors, I like hiking and camping, and hope to travel the USA and see more of our natural parks and wildlife, as well as the rest of the world. For sports, I love baseball. I love food, and will try any kind, and hope to experience great new foods when I travel. As for anything else, I'm pretty laid back, and will try anything once.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like books that aren't as serious, like funny memoirs, or some fiction, like the Artemis Fowl series. I also read Game of Thrones (so much for not so serious haha), that was pretty good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My work at the zoo has allowed me to do some pretty amazing things, like hand-feed a bear, and feel some of the animals when they were sedated for physicals. It's pretty cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know that I have things to teach. I guess maybe my vast wealth of random facts? (I love trivia). I also know a fair amount about animals. But for me, I would love to learn to surf...dance...anything new is cool.
