About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'd love to teach the world to...play the harmonica.

ABOUT ME

I am interested in nearly everything. I am married and have 4 daughters. The oldest is in college in Tn. I have a Harley to escape on and love to ride. I recently pole vaulted 3 meters and I play harmonica . I play guitar too but you are probably better than I on the guitar. I love history and love to talk about the 1600's and 1700's. I am a member of a Cherokee band Indian tribe and am Shawnee and Algonquin and European as well. I like to help people and promote good to people.

PHILOSOPHY

Help others. Do not hurt others. Help them achieve their wants in life. God is God and I am not.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet you for a coffee and better yet a ride. My kids keep me busy taking them places but often I can get out during the day to help you enjoy Scottsdale. I used to rock climb so I can direct you to some routes. Music is my passion and I want to jam with you on my harmonica. Ask me about any skin issues. There is hope.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to this site but before the CS site I made my own way. The ultimate couch serf was in a village in Transylvania when a family asked me to stay with them. I accepted and all 5 of them slept on one bed so I could have a private bed in a private room. No shared sleeping surface for the guest in that village.

Interests

I dream of the wild blueberries from the mountains of Northern Romania...and the doughnuts they put them on. In the United States we have so very little taste in much of our food. I love to go to hockey games and do it as much as possible-usually with a daughter.

Music, Movies, and Books

Imagine Dragons, The Avett Brothers, The Moody Blues, Mumford and Sons, My favorite is my daughter, Shelby Garrett-Shelby Garrett Music. She asked me to record my first harmonica solo on her song, "Mr Gorbachev". Check it out on Amazon or Pandora or itunes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove the same girl scout troop to camp for seven years in a row. Watching them become young ladies has been awestriking. Seeing my four daughters grow up is so cool. I want to see how you grew up. Speaking sign language to Russian deaf signers in a Kyrgyzstan orphanage for deaf kids and totally screwing up the language was a great moment. Well, it was a great ice breaker anyway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will teach you to play your harmonica.
