to finally host people after having such amazing hosts all over the world!
Originally from California, currently living & loving in Brooklyn. I miss the redwoods and walking slow, but am totally addicted to certain things about New York. I suppose its mostly the richness that every day brings. I just finished up working at a non-profit and am going back to school for social work. I am also a birth doula, (mostly) vegetarian, an extrovert, and huge lover of 90s slow jams.
I spent about a year and a half abroad in 2009/10 and it was, unsurprisingly, super amazing and something that shaped me in big ways.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been a surfer many times and have had nothing but positive experiences. I host occasionally now and it is always such a joy to meet kind, interesting people in the midst of fun adventures!
Connecting and sharing with people, new places, music festivals, avocados, documentary film, my amazing family and friends, social justice, birth & birth activism, communicating when there's a language barrier, roadtrips, potlucks, dance parties!

Music, Movies, and Books
Erykah Badu, A Tribe Called Quest, Little Dragon, Radiohead, Junior Boys, Leonard Cohen, Bonobo, Burial, all things Balkan, all things brass. I also love Malian music and live with two jazz musicians so get to hear all sorts of cool Afroperuvian jazz and such. Where to start with favorite books? But I do love Tom Robbins, Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, MIlan Kundera. The movie I have seen the most times (by far) is Clueless. The last amazing movie I saw was The Kid with a Bike. I also love Werner Herzog and Errol Morris documentaries. The Interruptors is another amazing documentary, you should probably watch it right now. And Woody Allen, of course. Oh man, I'm kind of like the rest of 'em..
