I quit my job in the Middle East years ago, bumped into the Language Exchange Club (LEC) in Kiev, and stayed. I now live in Tbilisi in Georgia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The founders of LEC advertised their first conversation meetings on CS to attract native speakers of different languages. Today, you'll meet other people at the meetings of LEC pretty much like you would meet other people at CS meetings in other cities. The main difference is that each meeting of LEC is dedicated to 1 language and better speakers of that language can help others practice. Check the cities of LEC at http://lec.link/page/other-cities
I don't systematically couchsurf when I travel, mostly because I seldom plan in advance. I had wonderful experiences couchsurfing in India, in Nepal, in Belarus, in Poland, Latvia... but I keep using CS more to organize real-life conversation meetings between people.
Languages, ideas of all kinds, walking, exchanging views with people, discussing life decisions and projects, project management still, DIY electronics and paintings at the moment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Thoroughly enjoying the routine life I had in Kiev a few years ago.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you start conversation meetings in the languages you want to practice wherever you live. I also like to brainstorm any idea or issue to find or build solutions.
