ABOUT ME

Most people go through three phases when they meet me: Phase 1 - "Wow! Tamar is so sweet and friendly! She seems really nice!" Phase 2 - "Okay... Wait a second... No one is *that* happy all the time. Something's amiss with this one. She has a dry sense of humor, strong opinions and leadership skills. I don't think I like her anymore." Phase 3 - "Now that I really know Tamar, I understand why so many people think she's crazy, but I like her anyway. She genuinely loves to make people happy and I like that about her. I think we'll be friends for a really long time." It's up to you how long it takes us to get to Phase 3. ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am becoming a couchsurfer because I'm about to be between homes this summer. I have a roommate who would like to start a new lease with me in August, but that leaves May, June and July up in the air. I have everything I need in my car, so I'm not moving in. I'm just looking for a bed and a clean bathroom... a safe place to stay while I'm in between. As a thank you, I'd love to offer up any assistance I can regarding music, dance and/or Disney. I'm worth more than that, but those are my strong suits. I might sleep a little more than other guests (for health reasons), but I make a good friend and would love to meet new friends who can put a smile on the face of the world with me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie, but I've only heard good things. I'll be sure to update this section once I have stories to tell.

Interests

When I'm not helping to make dreams come true at the most magical place on earth, I teach social partner dancing (mostly swing, lindy hop, Charleston and blues, but also ballroom and Latin if that's what people want). I sing jazz & blues and love to learn. I'm working on my Hebrew, Spanish and ASL (American Sign Language), but I've been so busy working on other projects, like quilting and scanning old photos, that some of it's been put on the back burner. It's been a while since I've practiced guitar or read for fun (and I miss it). I'm hoping to get my time organized enough where I'll be able to enjoy these passions again.
