About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to figure out where my next vacation is going to take me.

ABOUT ME

I'm outgoing, funny, easy-going, at first a little quiet and guarded, but this changes when I get to know people. I moved to Australia and got bitten by the surfing bug. So now my life pretty much evolves around surfing and other beach or water activities. I'm going out less and try to live healthy, but am still up to go to bars and maybe to a club once in a while. I've been a vegetarian for about 20 years now, and try to eat vegan as much as I can. I love italian, thai, vietnamese and korean food.

PHILOSOPHY

Träume nicht dein Leben, lebe deinen Traum!
Don't dream your life, live your dream!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am on the road a lot for work, and travel a lot. I also don't have my own place and can't have guests. So right now I can only participate by meeting people, and showing them around. Also happy to go surfing with you. Once in a while I stay on somebody's couch or meet up with locals when I'm visiting places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For me the only true way of experiencing a new place is to meet up with locals. That's how you find all the gems and secret spots and learn a lot more about what the place is really like than staying with other tourists in a hotel. I usually try to avoid touristy areas and very touristy things to do. That's why I love couchsurfing.

I've also used couchsurfing when I relocated more permanently to a new city. My hosts always turned into good friends and they all helped me out a lot with getting settled in.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach you:
German (language, culture, history)
cooking or baking something that is typical for Germany or Europe
skiing, snowboarding (I grew up in the mountains, where skiing is really popular, but haven't done it for a long time - so no promises here)
surfing (still a beginner, but I am always happy to introduce others to the greatest sport in the world)

What I want to learn:
surfing like a pro - in the ocean, not on a couch! :)
other cultures and languages
