About Me

Visit visit visit

I could regale with all the reasons I'm an amazing human being, or I can just leave it at being a human being like you. The latter's more accurate, anyway.

I have no idea why I exist, but I do know that I find a variety of things in the world to be great. For example, tea is great. So are Chuck Taylors and Zelda games. Why are these things great to me? No idea, but it's also great to find more of them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Fantastic Mr. Fox, Fight Club, Almost Famous, Wall-E, Die Hard.
Music: Beatles, Rolling Stones, T-Rex, New Order, The Clash, Pavement, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, M. Ward, Jim O'Rourke, Broken Social Scene, Flaming Lips, REM, U2, Pixies, and of course OutKast.
Books: Junot Diaz, Michael Chabon, George Carlin, George Orwell, and sometimes Cormac McCarthy... SOMETIMES.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw the play Peter Pan recently, and there was a part where they called on the audience to whisper "I believe in fairies" to revive tinkerbell. All the little children joined in chanting, and they were all swept up in the moment. Seeing a lot of people so invested in a piece of theatre was pretty amazing.
So were the monkeys in the Costa Rica rain forests that would nimbly swing from tree to tree fighting over what I can only guess was a banana.

Teach, Learn, Share

When dealing with solder, remember that it is very hot when molten. Please don't burn yourself.

Kaju Tofu House in Garden Grove, California makes terrific tofu soup. I can only hope to try it in Korea some day.

There is entirely too much entertainment. I will never be able to get to all the highly regarded music, movies, games, or books that I hear of. That's frustrating.

You can try fixing your computer all day, but when you get right down to it, sometimes you should just reformat the hard drive.

The secret to winning anyone over is making good food. I need to learn this...

If you're a human being, then you cannot beat Ninja Gaiden for old Nintendo. No one can. All YouTube videos suggesting otherwise are fraudulent or done by that chess computer.

The Beatles are a very good band. You should check them out.
