Seattle native, coffee addict, wine drinking enthusiast, and lover of the great outdoors.

In January 2015 I moved out of my apartment, sold almost all of my belongings, packed a bag and hit the road along with my boyfriend for an around the world journey. I had dreamt of this trip for many years but finally decided to take decisive action to make it happen after I realized I was spending my days in a career where life was just passing me by rather than really living it. I am lucky to have a partner in life that was eager to leave it all behind and travel with me. Together we just spend 6 months traveling throughout South East Asia. We returned home to Seattle for the last part of Summer and are now heading out for our second leg of the trip, this time to the Eastern United States and then Europe!

I love meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures. On this journey I have tried to challenge myself and step outside my comfort zone as much as possible. I love to learn and try new things. You can learn something from everyone, so I always try to keep an open mind.

I am always on the hunt to find good food and try the local dishes while traveling! I enjoy finding local markets and cheap eats. I love to enjoy a good glass (or bottle) of wine and find that usually makes the conversation flow a little bit better ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel is to learn. I'm on a quest to better understand myself and my place in the world by seeing more of it. But I am trying to do so in a sustainable way. Hoping to connect with some interesting people along the way and see new areas from a local perspective.

Hoping I'll be in a position to host when I make it back to Seattle!

Interests

I love anything outdoors. Hiking, camping, kayaking, boating, traveling, exploring and picture taking. I like to cook but love to bake, especially cookies.
I love festivals and live music. But I'm also a huge fan of staying in and having game nights with my friends. Wine and Beer tasting is something that I'll rarely turn down. But when I'm not inside I love Bon Fires, and pretty much anything that involves being on the beach!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Really I would say quitting my job to travel is the most amazing thing I have done to date. Prior to this year I was someone who was always uncomfortable with change. Leaving the security of a paycheck was quite frightening, but it has taught me that there is no better feeling than going after what you really want!
