I am a soon to be graduate of Seattle University, I grew up mostly in Seattle, but am originally from Hawaii. I've worked as a graphic designer for the last two years in college, on campus and for a non-profit arts organization.
I've been vegetarian since I was 14, although I cheated a couple times in the early years (bacon is my weakness!). I love dogs and most animals, but I'm allergic to cats. Personality wise I'm generally a bit shy and quiet when I first meet people, but once I get to know someone I'm more talkative and like to joke around a lot.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Before heading into the working world my boyfriend and I have decided to take a summer trip through Europe. Having just ended our careers as students we are not the wealthiest pair and are looking for ways to cut down on costs during our trip, which is what led us to Couchsurfing!
Not only does it save us a considerable amount of money, but it sounds like a much more interesting and enriching experience than simply staying in a hotel. We are definitely looking for a more local, less touristy type experience in our travels, so having hosts with knowledge of the area that they can share is a definite bonus!
Once I get my own place and have more space I would love to host other people, as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I listen to a variety of music from folk, to R&B, to rap. The only type of music I generally dislike is country.
Movies: I love movies, again, I enjoy a variety. I love Hayao Miyazaki, the Coen Brothers, and Quentin Tarantino films.
Books: I'm an avid reader, always in the middle of at least one book. I enjoy many genres. Recently I've been reading many books set in China that cover the political history of the country over the last 100 years or so.
