About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live my life in harmony with myself, the others and the environment.

ABOUT ME

I write novels. I like writing about, reading about, seeing and doing contemporary art. I want to be one day a good art therapist. I grow cherry tomatoes on the kitchen window. I used to travel quite a lot, but now I have a small 2-years old son, so I spend a lot of time babysitting.

PHILOSOPHY

To find a way to live my life that is different than a politically engaged way of being and also different than an evasive, autonomous way of existence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I could offer a couch to sleep over + coffee. I might cook a breakfast if I feel like it and if my guest feels like it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Many of my friends used to sleep over at my place while traveling. Usually I knew them before. One of them mentioned this site. So I decided that I must try it, now that I have to travel for a while, and see if it works...

Interests

A friend of mine told me once that I am the kind of person that is interested in everything. Actively interested. However, I would limit my interests to Literature, psychology, contemporary art, especially engaged art and art criticism, social activism and art therapy. I like painting too. I am also fascinated by the use of animals in artistic discourse, especially the use of pigs.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read quite a lot and I have a lots of writers whom I like very much. Recently I've discovered Sergei Dovlatov - a great Russian language writer.
Normally I read couple of books at a time. Currently I am reading Something Happened, by Joseph Heller, The Great American Novel by Philip Roth and short stories by Vasile Vasilache.
Movies - Doina groparilor, a documentary that is going to be broadcast on HBO in a month or so. I never thought that documentaries could be so great!
Music> Don't have too much time for that now... I listened to a couple of Tom Waits CD's the other day. A little bit of Coco-rosie. And a compilation of new Polish rock - a cd that came together with Lampa magazine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a lot of places and I met a lot of people, however, the most amazing thing in my life was the birth of my son and the whole process that leaded towards this event. At the moment to take care of him is quite a challenge, but, somehow, once in a while, he manages to make everybody laugh and forget how exhausting it is to take care of him:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I am a good listener. I think I am quite a proficient talker as well.
