ABOUT ME

Let me see... I'm 24, left-handed, Jewish, engaged to be married, and starting my first teaching job in September. I cycle everywhere, chew way too much gum, bite my nails and am a bit of a cheapskate (I also doodle when I'm supposed to be taking notes!). I can remember every detail of random events in history, but I lose everything material and have no working memory whatsoever. I never hold a grudge, I thrive on variety, scrabble and summer, and welcome all ideas and personalities. My favorite colour is green. Though I'm technically a virgo, I don't think the description of a virgo matches me at all. The only things I can't stand are mosquitos, pine nuts, blue cheese and xenophobia. How about you?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Jay and I couchsurfed in San Diego, Mazatlan, Guadalajara and Ensenada, while backpacking through Mexico. We're now up for hosting, as well!

Love anything by Paul Theroux. The last book I read was Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice, and am currently reading a travelogue on Tibet. Travelogues, non/fiction, anything but chick lit. Music: Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Blind Melon, Foo Fighters, Jeff Buckley, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Hawksley Workman, The New Pornographers, Muse, Bill Withers, many more. Movies: usually not chick flicks or horrors, but I'm up for everything else. Especially apocolyptic-type films or historical. Favorites include Jurassic Park, Super Troopers, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Legends of the Fall, Schindler's List, Kill Bill, Mary Poppins, and more.

Having a one-hour conversation in French with a Fransiscan monk in an Arab Town in the middle of Israel. It was surreal, and he topped it off with the best homemade organic lemonade I've ever had!
