ABOUT ME

i am a multiple medium, multiple platform artist living in indiana. i am mostly self taught, and influenced by Lucian Freud, Royo, Helen Frankenthaler, Salvador Dali, Leonora Carrington, Fredrick Hart, Edgar Degas, Egon Scheil, JW waterhouse, Gustav Klimt. i am trying to focus on capturing the human form with depth and character but i also enjoy creating abstract/surreal mood scapes, sculpting, writing, and photography, with sculpture i also like both the realistic and the abstract.

i am mostly looking to explore new cities and meet other artist and get an idea of what it means to be an artist today and learn some new techniques and get new ideas on expression. i am hoping to go out and DO, to go and create some art with people, and maybe go see some museums and galleries and have fun.

PHILOSOPHY

my personal philosophy has changed alot but to sum it up it would be to "follow your bliss" we have only got today and right now that we can be sure about and it is far better to be bold and daring than to be timid. all that one wants to be must be done now not tommorow because if you wait till then it will never arrive.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

one time i was stuck out in reno nevada after Burning Man, and had two days before my flight and no money for a hotel, i am sitting outside drinking some coffee passing time with the remaining people, and then some one comes up and offers me a place to stay. i ended up staying with the weatherman for abc 7 reno who also happened to be a burner...

i have a wide range of intrests, i can be intrested in just about anything i love to learn and absorb new information. however what you will find me doing most is working on art, reading about art, or fashion or music, or culture, science, philosophy....

Music, Movies, and Books

right now i am mostly intrested in abstract ambiant music, wit haunting instrumentals.

for movies i like abstract art films and indie movies. things that are either terrifing or quirky.

in regards to books, i read alot of nonfiction about art and philosophy, physics, mathematics and anatomy. i read alot of magazines as well. i read most of the major art publications monthly my favorites are art forum, art news, juxtapoze, Hi-fructose, and american art review, as they have the most fresh living art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

one of the most amazing things i've seen is the black rock desert. sheer emptiness and tall mountains, enough to just get lost in, it gives you perspective on how small we are.
