About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I will journey anywhere I have to in order to do Stand-up comedy.

ABOUT ME

I am very outgoing and love meeting new people. I like to think of my self as rather witty and fun to be around. I love comedy. Comedy, both stand-up and sketch improv are, in my opinion, the best art form. I smoke cigarettes, and I like to smoke cigarettes... in case you were wondering. I am politically aware and love to talk/debate political ideology. Not religious, though I have been raised with those values. Most of my spiritual awakening happened after I discarded my religion and ventured through different modes of thought and state of mind. I try to keep a spiritual perspective on life. I am philosophical in the sense that I like to discuss philosophy and relate it to my personal life, and for this I am constantly growing and changing mentally. In conclusion, I am very cynical, in a light hearted jest sort of way.

PHILOSOPHY

"The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace." ~Bill Hicks

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am fresh to this site and what it has to offer. I'm too young to settle for anything other than spontaneity! So, if you are reading this, help me participate. I look forward to helping other surfers and surfing the waves of couches around the country, and potentially, the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Like a blank wall waiting to be tagged!

Interests

I am attempting to commit myself to comedy. Performing is a passion of mine, and after having this "revelation", I feel it is the one thing that I want more than anything else. Since I love meeting people who can share so much, this journey to pursue comedy will be perfect for surfing. I like to converse with old friends and new. I like doing things I've never done before. I also like writing raps, poetry, and music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's do this one category at a time:
Movies- Tim Burton films are generally amazing and are some of my favorites. But some of my favorite titles include "What the Bleep do we Know", "Shaun of the Dead", "Enter the Void", "The Muse", "Fight Club", "Seven", "American Beauty", "Being John Malkovich", "Thumbsucker"...I could keep going...
Music: TOOL, Rage Against the Machine, Jim White, Bob Dylan, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Dave Matthews, Ben Folds, Gorillaz, Tenacious D, dubstep, John Lennon, Radiohead, a lot of classic rock.
Books: Anything by Chuck Palinuck. I love the disc world novels. Neil Gaiman is great, I love his "Sandman" graphic novels. Hoawrd Zinn and Noam Chomsky are good. And of course, Douglas Adams. I actually do enjoy a lot of classics, but to save you the expected titles (Tom Sawyer, To Kill a Mocking Bird, ect.) I'll just say I hated The Great Gatsby. I also enjoy philosophy (John Stewart Mill, Locke, Plato) and I love the Pop Culture and Philosophy series. I recently finished Dexter and Philosophy, and started Breaking Bad and Philosophy.
I can talk about art in all of it's varieties for hours upon hours. Art is how we fight the conventions of society. Art reminds us why we care so much about life, the universe, and everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to India, and celebrating Holi in the streets of Mumbai. Thousands of strangers throwing powder color on me, while I walked down the street.

On an unrelated note, I also saw Diane Sawyer sneeze of the set of Good Morning America before the show started. That was hilarious.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn why people are fascinated by things I can't understand or don't like. I know that might sound a little silly and strange, but hear me out. Algebra, golf, astrology, and many many other things are lost on me, but when I hear people talk about their passions, especially when I know nothing about it, is something I really need to experience more. I feel like this is a lesson I have been neglecting.
