let's see.....me....about me...me me me...ummmm I am originally from Phoenix,AZ and just moved to South Korea after 14 months in Taiwan. I went to art school in NYC and then lived there for a few years. I like to pretend I can play guitar ( I am trying) and I like getting lost in new cities. I love art and music more than anything in the world and can talk about them for hours. I am also a sucker for any beach with clear water....to be continued...
Don't be an idiot. Whenever I’m about to do something, I think “would an idiot do that?” and if they would, I do not do that thing. -Dwight Schrute (The Office)
As far as traveling goes I believe back alleys and main streets all connect at some point. So when I am in a new place I keep myself open. The tourist spots and the local hangouts are two parts of the same whole and they both say a lot about the place you have found yourself in and there is no time to be shy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted when I lived in Taipei, but unfortunately there weren't too many CSers that came through Suwon so I didn't really get the chance when I lived there. I'm backing in NYC and slowly updating my profile so stay tuned!
I have hosted, surfed and met up with people from all over the world. It's been great!
music. art. travel (obviously). meeting new folks with something to teach and everyone has something and most do it without even realizing it. learning. creating.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm pretty obsessed with music all around.
Books: my favorite authors are Hubert Selby Jr, Arthur Nersesian and maybe Nabokov as for non-fiction I like bios and really specific history books. I cant think of the category name but like Salt: A World History or Guns, Germs and Steel just books about a very specific thing and the history of it that you think no one could write an entire book about but they do; oh Stiffed: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers is another good example. Art history/commentary and artists books too!
Movies: I like movies but I find that I enjoy music documentaries the most and can watch them over and over. I loved Filth and the Fury and have probably seen it about 100 times also I have been watching Kill Yr Idols a lot lately and I loved Anvil:The Story of Anvil and American Hardcore are some good ones (those all sound like similar genres of music but thats just what came to me first :))I think just documentaries in general I just finished downloading The Cove and I cant wait to watch it!
Comedians: Zach Galifianakis (we lived in the same neighborhood),Patton Oswalt, Eddy Murphy (Raw, Delirious), Chris Rock (I was obsessed in High School),Dave Chapelle (obsessed in College), Monty Python and the amazing Reggie Watts......to be continued
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Its really hard to choose just one because for me its always the last trip that was the most amazing because its the newest so the answer keeps changing.
Teach, Learn, Share
