Hey there, dear travelers (X
I used to have some sort of explanatory introduction text up here, feeling like I'd have the need to set up a couple rules plus making sure the memory of good old pre-November 2014 CouchSurfing would remain, but I s'ppose something less radical and elaborate will just do:
Please address me personally when writing a request, don't bring plastic bags and (parts of) dead animals into the flat and yep, we can provide you with blankets and a towel - just like you would want to (if you've read Douglas Adams) (:
Looking very much forward to meeting ya!
Why no plastic bags? Think of the environment! (: We can provide you with bunches of old plastic and some re-usable bags, hence really no need for you to bring any yourself.
NO MORE PLASTIC BAGS AT THE SUPERMARKET CASHOUT!
Take a re-usable cutton bag instead; it's always worth paying the extra euro or buck. Especially in South and SE-Asia: Be a role model for the people there and NEVER use plastic bags (besides you wanna keep your books and clothing dry).

Edited a new video which shows the area in Berlin we live and gives an idea of how CouchSurfing (and our home) looks like: https://youtu.be/dYKr8X6lcjc

Almost unbelievable, but true after all: It smells like spring up here in Berlin! So sick of the cold and windy... Now, time is running up for cosy winter nights of writing travel novel chapters in dark and freezing nights, but one can manage.
Happy to distract myself with hosting and getting to know new people!
Also, this year's big lake party is probably happening on Saturday, June 3.
(January 2017 update)
Since I got an angry e-mail from a Russian woman who accused me of racism (probably concerning my little note on Russian princesses, but I shall never know), I wanna clear this up: I have friends from Russia and know amazingly kind and loving Russian people plus I met lots of wonderful Russians over the last years who stayed with me and it's been a pleasure often enough. And I also don't really care where people come from, because we're all individuals (and 'nation' is a bullshit concept, anyway)
This being said: My point was that IF you happen to be a princess (double-check!) you might consider Air B'n'B, that's surely rather your cake then. Not our fault that it was Russians behaving in a weird manor (and not, say, Indonesians), but yes, I DO blame a certain mentality to it that is being encouraged by Putin and those who vote for him. Not MY cake in any case. I would also never claim that he's to be blamed for everything (but the people who vote for him are). I wonder if he will step back from power before his death, though, and I highly doubt it. Oh, and yes, there are also German princesses and NO, I don't generally dislike princesses, but... well, I hope you get what I mean. Don't take it all TOO seriously! (: This life really is too short to get too sticky on things.
(November 9, 2016 update)
Actually being ashamed to be of the same species as many of the people who support the following individuals OR defend their views on things: Trump, Erdoğan, Putin, Austrian Hofer, German AfD, Hungarian Orban, British Cameron, Johnson, Farage and virtually everyone who voted FOR the Brexit. You people can seriously screw off, you're NOT welcome. /: For I am concerned I'd rather see you guys migrate to Venus rather sooner than later, and then Brexit yourselves (: Welcome to the 21st century!
(September 2016 update)
I hosted 2 parties of people from Russia in the last weeks and both of them turned out to be absolute princesses with fancy wheeled luggage and snappy comments about our beloved little chamber. (: The only thing they were interested in were (in that order): wifi-key, using our washing machine, using an iron (!) for their clothes and all of that within the first 10 minutes after arriving. I mean, what about making some contact? Saying hello to a friend in the kitchen? I mean, really. Obviously, stuff like this makes me giggle big time and it's a shame that this new CS administration (probably traveling with an equally wicked attitude) won't allow more than 260 characters to respond to a funny-as-fuck "negative" reference.
Sooooo, if you're reading this: Please (!) make sure you are not one of those princesses that is confusing CouchSurfing with a free Air B'n'B which it really isn't. I don't even mind those funny references, it just feels like a waste of time having these kinda people in my place. Not worth the effort. It's just that I really wanna give people of all kinds a chance for interaction. But then don't come up, act like a princess, ask for WiFi within the first 10 seconds and then complain when we cannot take you serious (of course we know how very important it is to go online straight away and send out the pictures you took over the day and tell your friends about crazy, sexy, wicked Berlin X) - but PLEASE - show - some - STYLE.
(I probably should have put this in Kyrillian letters, though. Ah, well, here we go: Пожалуйста, дорогие российские принцесс: Не путайте Couchsurfing с бесплатной версией Air B'n'B - это не так. Если вы приходите с причудливыми багажом на колесах и ожидают, огромная кровать со свечами и розовыми полотенцами и где-то к железу ваши проклятые одежды: Не даже в голову писать мне запрос. :P Очень высокую оценку.)
CURRENT MISSION (other than the above): Fire Walk with Me! xD
Seems like I kinda got stuck having itchy feet back home in good ol' Berlin these days (uh-oh...), dreaming about getting on the road again in late summer, but stuck with writing an On the Road style travel novel after finishing my MA in European Politics, Sociology and Philosophy in early 2016. Well, until then I simply keep on dealing with expanding personal philosophies and maybe the amount of travel money (by establishing a proper career) would be rather helpful, yay. Considering myself an agent of chaos in troubled times of uncertainty to be thrown away to make space for something utterly raw. All the time. Falling in love, writing letters to beautiful people, planning trips, learning languages and all sorts of curiosities, discovering secret places, dancing all night long, testing patience, devouring electro synthesizer pop by John Frusciante, exploring the surrounding lakes and parks, writing poetry, playing the guitar just for myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In offering my couch as often as I have spare time to enjoy it and exchange experiences, (travel) stories and recipes with people from around the globe!
I've been joining this formerly (!) wonderful network more than six years ago now (i.e. summer 2008) and wouldn't want to miss it anymore - it fits perfectly to my view of life and indeed might be the solution to world peace! (X
Governments or individuals who actually oppose the inspiring idea of sharing one's couch and cultural experience plus the exchange of ideas and values did not get the point of what life is all about! Or maybe they simply never tried.
However, as the site was sold it literally sold out and slowly, but surely betrayed its own ideals - it's rotten from the inside, as heart- and soulless as it looks like from the outside: disgusting and ugly, like a wanna-be travel-focused Facebook fake. The developers pretty much screwed it up, it's just really sad.
The Rise and Fall of CouchSurfing: http://www.bootsnall.com/articles/13-05/couchsurfings-fall.html
"I used to say that Couchsurfing was globalization done right, where ideas and exchange mattered more than money or status. When you met someone who said they were a Couchsurfer, that it meant they had a different viewpoint on life, that they knew how to share, and were culturally open minded."

Traveling in general, hitching in particular. Reading and writing letters, postcards, poems, scripts, short stories, journals, books. Photography. Preparing vegetarian/vegan dishes. Watching movies. Hiking, driving around vast empty motorways and snorkeling. Philosophical debates, playing the guitar, dancing to electronic music. Discovering abandoned houses and places in my home town. Collecting Lonely Planets. Not growing old.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
e.g. Wild penguins gnawing at my feet at night. // Hiking Tasmania's Overland Track. // Encountering Komodo dragons (only having a single wooden stick for self-defense)! // Falling in love with and in St. Kilda, Melbourne. // Albanian and Macedonian kindness and hospitality. // Enjoying Indonesian food stalls, islands (the Gilis!), beaches and temples - plus feeling like a true rock star when encountering young locals on Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple. // Approaching North Cape, Europe's top end, in foggy rain and really feeling like hitting world's end. // Hitching through Southern Europe in 32 days and 66 cars over 5,000-odd kilometres and smashing two cars with one sudden, well-timed movement, beat this! What I Can Share with Hosts
Dear screwed-up new CS administration, would you PLEASE (after two years) bring back the old, beloved split-up INBOX!
Like in the old days:
YES / MAYBE / NO
YES / MAYBE / NO
And when you're already up to that: What about shifting your colour outset from ugly grey-white to a more enchanting yellow-orange (as we used to love it)? I gave up on most other shifts to the worse. But at least the Inbox, that can't be too hard, right? Apparently yes.
