Travel the U.S. and blog about my experiences
I have always given to my community, via my job, as a volunteer, board member, or as a friend. I have worked long days and after accomplishing what I set out to do for the elderly in a rural Vermont setting, it was time to move on.
Before I decide to settle into another new occupation, I have decided to travel across the United States. A life long dream -no time schedule, I want to explore and see how other people live, what other communities are like. Is there another place I would like to call home? I love adventure, meeting new friends and exploring all the back roads to see where they will lead me. I have a well behaved, small to medium dog, who does not shed that is my traveling companion. He does not bark, unless we are in extreme danger and is quiet and trained as a therapy dog who worked with me on a daily basis at a senior center. I think he is better known in this town than me.
There is room for everyone to succeed. I believe in collaboration not competition. If we help one another, we can accomplish so much more. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated; with compassion, kindness and have respect for the journey they currently are on.
Be grateful, for all that we have and some how all that we have is all that we really need.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
CouchSurfing was just introduced to me through friends who have used it and loved it. I will travel first, and then open my home to those who would like to come to Vermont.
skiing, biking, hiking, reading, writing, art, music, beekeeping, gardening, cooking, baking.
Music, Movies, and Books
Avid reader with so many favorites. Out of Africa is still my favorite movie. Love most kind of music, still partial to Classic Rock.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Had the opportunity to negotiate with the Nicaraguan Government to help bring much needed healthcare into the rural regions while volunteering my time on a healthcare mission.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to help anyone get started in Beekeeping. When I began, it was hard to find a mentor. Fortunately I found a great mentor and have been paying it forward ever since.
