About Me

Tree climbing, book worming, cross-country cycling, juggler of intellectual pursuits (and canon balls).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interested in meeting all kinds of new people and getting some much needed travelling in too.
“Well, well; belike the whole world’s one ball, as your scholars have it; and so ‘tis right to make one ball-room of it. Dance on lads, you’re young; I was once.”

Music, Movies, and Books

Open to all music. Eclectic and curious.

I enjoy all movies where I can believe in the characters; good acting is fundamental and can’t be replaced by flashy CG or big explosions haha.

I’ll read anything and everything. Road signs, food wrappers, you name it!

Seriously though:
My favourite physical book is a 1905 copy of Jungle Book which has the original block-printed illustrations.

新世界より (From the New World) is my favourite dystopian fiction novel. It’s named as a reference to a Dvorak symphony.

My favourite writing style is that of Moby Dick. It’s an ingot of poetry with a density comparable to osmium! Okay that’s an exaggeration, maybe tungsten.

A Song of Ice and Fire is my favourite ongoing novel series.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to teach Japanese, from absolute beginner to intermediate level.

Want to learn juggling? No problem!

Count me in for long discussions about science, politics, philosophy, arts... The world is an endless mystery for us to comprehend.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great conversation; the kind where someone truly listens to you and makes an effort to understand your views.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, Wales
