About Me

I'm an easy-going lad who loves to spend time with his friends and discover new places and sceneries. I did not travel in a ridiculously high number of countries, but 've lived in three different ones. France, Russia and England: that's something! I love going on an adventure and I'm always in for anything the implies doing something I'm not familiar with. I'm also quite fun, in a kind a deadpan humour thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just started a job in Newquay this week and still have no real place of my own. Most importantly, I don't know anyone here and I don't know any of the cool places and activities this place has to offer. I really think Couchsurfing can help me with this new beginning of mine here in Newquay. The best way to discover a new place is with the help of those who know it best. I hope Couchsurfing can offer me good local knowledge.

Interests

Well I guess it's pretty clear that I enjoy travelling but I also love music: back when I was France I wrote an album. Nothing amazing, mind you, just some simple tunes for my friends and family, but still I guess that was worth mentionning. I also love water-related activites - and I have to admit that from that point of view I'm really excited to be in Newquay -, I've never surfed, I've never been kayaking or anything, actually I've spend my hole life hundreds of miles from the closest sea, so being here is kind of a dream come true. I'm also keen on cooking, you know like anyone else I've got a couple of signature dishes that will always please my guests, especially when I'm abroad; for some reason people love French cuisine, I beg to differ. But hey, if you're dying to try some French food , I'm your man!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music my tastes are all over the place. There's absolutely no genre where I'd go "No, I don't fancy that". But I have to admit a soft spot for 60's and 70's music (and 90's dance music after a few drinks) . I also love movies from the 50's and 60's, I'd sit through any movie from that era with a smile on my face. I just love the atmosphere they create : Vertigo, The Night of the Hunter, Purple Noon, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey... I could go on & on! I don't read that much, but if I had to name any book that had a great deal of influence on me it'd be The Pensées by Blaise Pascal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived Russian winter.

(Everybody thinks it's bloody cold, but it's actually worse than that)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some great stories of my life and travels in Europe, my jokes (I have a twisted sense of humour, though), my talent in the kitchen (with the "French chef accent" if required) and lots of fun and laughter.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Estonia, Finland, Germany
