About Me

I am a person of discovery, building and crafting.

You mostly likely will meet me as a quiet, respectful and curious guy. I love learning from others, what they like, what they want to achieve and most of all, making pictures of my emotions through a camera lens, either it's a digital or analog one.

For my 30th birthday, I've taken the opportunity to move to London. During 5 years, I learned more about what it is to be a foreigner and about British culture. It has been a 5 years process to unlearn, downscale and surface what are the core dependencies of my day to day life.

After one year of backpacking to find a new home, i'm now settled in a rural area of France, in the Drôme Valley. There are plenty of crafters (cheese, bread, textile, herbal tea, vegs and fruits) and I can only praise for more wildlife.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, travelling is a way to get closer to locals and their culture.

I try to make people discovering unusual things, less touristic but still interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic could be a good word to summarize what I appreciate.

In music, my favourite bands (those I always listen without being bored) are Avishai Cohen, Esbjorn Svensson Trio, Radiohead, Chihiro Yamanaka, Youn Sun Nah, Eric Truffaz, Joan as Police Woman, Blockhead, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Melody Gardot, Terry Riley, Kimmo Pohjonen, Portico Quartet, Submotion Orchestra, Hidden Orchestra, Bryan Ferry and so on.

In books, I regularly switch between essays, science fiction, novels and more rarely, in historic stories (especially World War): Steppenwolf (Herman Hesse), The Conflict (Georg Simmel), Eye and Spirit (Merleau-Ponty), Le vide et le plein (Bouvier), Manuscrit Zero (Ogawa), Kafka (Murakami), The Machine Stops, Ways of Seeing (John Berger), Mythologies (Roland Barthes), The Political Illusion (Jacques Ellul).

In movies, my tastes are even more mixed: action, science-fiction, animated movies, dramas, humor, old movies, historic, comics etc.: Forbidden Planet, La piel que Habito, Black Swan, 2001, Bright Star, Toy Story 2, Gainsbourg, Sudden Impact, Planet of the Apes, Dikkenek, Magnum Force, Hunger, For a Few Dollars More, Tron etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling and changing my life according to my values and hopes.

Visiting Iceland by hitchhiking during 3 weeks and thus, fighting against cold, painful feets and storms.

Moving from my comfy hometown to a new country in exactly two weeks.

Teach, Learn, Share

Programming, computer litteracy, collaborative practices, bread making.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share part of my activities—it's not a given.

I love walking so I'm happy sharing a hike in the area, taking you to the farmers market, cook and share a reading with you.

If me or my partner have an activity already planned, we're happy to take you with us—women's circle, sound bath, forest bath etc.
