Hi!

I'm Tom, born and raised on the sunny Mediterranean coast, now living in the beautiful city of Zurich, Switzerland.

For the background I was trained as an engineer and natural scientist but that's quite a pale reduction of my interests in life (that range from paper folding to volley-ball playing and piano improvising)

Something I also love above all is learning languages, it's my way to show respect to the countries I visit. I am a passionate polyglot who is now fluent in 6 languages and still learning a few more! I've developed my own method that I'm happy to share if you're interested!

PS: for those to whom the term makes sense: I'm a "zebra" ^^ (don't worry if you don't understand, I'll be more than happy to explain it to you!)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have quite an intense professional life as a consultant that makes me travel a lot so when I travel privately I try to keep away from impersonal hotels and prefer the warm and genuine contact of local people.

All my experiences as a couch-surfer have been delightful and my hosts have always thanked me for our deep and insightful conversations!

Even though my current work/travel rhythm makes it hard to be a host I really want to contribute and can't wait to welcome couch-surfers at my home soon.

I'm quite a quiet person but can't help but dancing when I hear a good beat!
When there is a piano around I like to improvise and play on people's suggestions, that's so fun and always create a nice atmosphere!

- lived 4 months in the amazon rain forest
- gave a conference in Japanese on origami (paper folding) and maths
- wrote a thesis on bumblebee behavior (^^)
