ABOUT ME

I am Thomas, a first time user of this great resource for us travelers!
I graduated from Melbourne University with a Degree in Medicinal Chemistry in 2012, but did not really feel like I had really learnt much about this world

Leaving my hometown of Melbourne the day I graduated, I have been away for 23 months now. I will dedicate much of my life to making medicines for autoimmune diseases, and thus have travelled the worlds poorest countries to learn about who I want to help!

I start a PhD in Edinburgh's Western Hospital in Cancer Research in September.

An Australian Ambassador to my Government and ex-President of the AusChina Youth Assoc, I am relatively fluent in Chinese, and have plenty of experience living/traveling/working in China.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking to couchsurf in Edinburgh for a week or so in early September!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have travelled to a number of countries where people have been kind enough to host me for free. Though never formally through couchsurfing, I consider it a great honor to be accepted into a house, and endeavor to give back to hosts in the kindness and humility I receive.

Interests

I will be working in Cancer Research, so really interested in what you think about medicine in Scotland!

I speak fluent Chinese, so could help you in any situation you may find that handy.

Teach, Learn, Share

-I am able to speak fluent Chinese, and would be comfortable teaching conversational Chinese to all levels.
-I can teach most aspects of University Chemistry, Biology and Biochemistry at a University level.
-Although no longer fighting, I was a competitive boxer and trainer for a number of years in the past.
-I have travelled extensively through a number of countries, and would be able to assist in any upcoming travel plans. (e.g how to trek through Northern Myanmar, Climb the Annapurna's for less than $US10/day or travel to the Pakistan/Xinjiang Border)
-I have extensive contacts in China that could also help out a host to travel and stay.
