About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission objective is to follow a calling of sorts into the wilderness of the world. The direction I go will not be determined by myself. I submit myself to going where the wind blows my sails.

ABOUT ME

"I went into the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." -- H.D. Thoreau

This single quote has the ability to sum up a very large portion of what is me.

I am a very spiritual person. I won't say 'religious' because someone will inevitably ask 'which one?' I respect each persons' right to believe what they find to be truth, and I expect others to return such respect. Keeping some questions unanswered sometimes prevents unecessary problems from arising, As long as someone is a decent person, full of love not hate, and does good things when the opportunity presents itself, what does it matter what label you put on their belief?

I've found that their really is no one place for me to settle down. The thought of doing so seems itself superfluous. I plan on wandering indefinitely, and meeting, helping, and loving others along the way, It is my goal that my life path really be a pathway through my life.

Okay, for some more superficial info...

1. Vegetarian diet.
2. No alcohol, except some wine from time to time.
3. My path is a spiritual one.
4. I dislike money very much, as such I prefer to exchange work/entertainment/thoughts for room/board.
5. Peace.

Music, Movies, and Books

Impromptu music.
Most any decent literature.
I know this may sound weird, but I prefer to not watch movies/TV. I know...kinda quirky but you know people didnt always have televisions, there was once a time when people had to use their imagination to 'see' things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Isn't every day amazing? Doesn't every beautiful moment leave one awestruck? How do I define amazing? I've hiked trails on islands off the coast of Madagascar and wandered off where the trail became lost, where I became lost at least until I ended up in the backyard of a local :) on the other side of the island. Needless to say a bus trip was the transportation of choice back to home base that day. I took a ride from a friendly cab driver in Bahrain who took me and my fellow travelers through an alternate route to our intended destination. At first we were all sort of concerned as to whether we perhaps should have taken a different ride, but we ended up just fine. He wouldn't even take payment for the ride. I've sat in waiting for others for vast amounts of time, very patient. But, sometimes you just have to go, knowing that perhaps their path was always meant to diverge from your own.
