ABOUT ME

Brought up in Glasgow, before moving back down south for university. Now I live and work (film production) in Glasgow. I have a close group of family and friends in Glasgow and an extended group elsewhere, a job that I really enjoy, lots to do at the weekends. I like to meet new people, do interesting things and learn!

I would like to host as many people as possible, make some friends and learn about other places in the world. And I suppose in return I would like to travel to loads of fun places and do the same there!

Intereses

I love film. I studied it at university and now work in various jobs in the film industry. I visit the cinema regularly and try to see as diverse a mix of films as I can. I'm also a very keen reader, and again, try to read a diverse mixture of books and authors. I like to keep fit too - I go running and do weights fairly frequently and play various sportsl. I loved travelling, and haven't been away nearly enough in the last few years. There are loads of places that I would like to go, and I am eager to get away as much as possible from now on. I'm keen to develop my languages, and am currently brushing up on my French. I love to socialise - a few beers and a good chat at the pub is my idea of a good night out. I like music, particularly alternative and acoustic rock, though I enjoy a variety of genres. I do not like to dance...I am also learning the guitar and trying to improve my skiing!

Música, películas y libros

The list of movies could go on forever. I like a lot of Michael Haneke's stuff - Hidden, Funny Games, Code Unknown etc. I'm a big fan of British cinema too - Ken Loach, Andrew Arnold, etc. Paul Thomas Anderson's stuff is incredible - There Will Be Blood, The Master...I love The Motorcycle Diaries, Festen, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Nil By Mouth, Un Prophete. Books wise...A Farewell to Arms, Dickens, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Robertson Davies' Deptford Trilogy, Tolkien, The Power and The Glory, Tender Is The Night. I can pretty much pick up anything up - I really enjoy reading and discussing books. Music-wise my taste is really diverse - I can appreciate all music, but tend to enjoy alternative and acoustic rock more than anything else. I'm trying in vain to learn the guitar. Anyone with any skills coming to stay would be much appreciated!

Er...Diving with sea turtles off the great barrier reef. Hitchhiking from Nairobi to Addis Ababa. Climbing previously unclimbed mountains in Greenland. I'm eager to add to the list!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I wouldn't feel I was qualified to teach anything necessarily. I could talk about films, literature, music, life experiences. I suppose I may have some insights into these things. I would love to speak some French and Spanish with people, and for someone to give me a helping hand with the guitar.
