About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Justify my stay at a country by more than simple curiosity

ABOUT ME

World traveler by sea and translator by vocation. I'm an easy-going, honest, sociable person who likes to meet locals at a destination and not seeing things through a tourist's eye. A minimalist or a maximalist according to circumstances. There are so many things to see and to do on spaceship Earth

PHILOSOPHY

Changing in latitudes changing in attitudes
Live and let live in the sense of acceptance of east and west, rich and poor, old and new

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I took a room during my studies in Metz and I kept it afterwards 'cause it's really inexpensive and it's quite good to have it when I'm not traveling. I already hosted people, sometimes I just let friends stay there. It's one room only but it gives shelter for the night, it has a bed, a sofa, a shower, a gardrobe and a sink. I have a gas-burner too to prepare basic dishes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Officially I'm a beginner, but I already both hosted students in France and slept in other people's places while traveling

Interests

Going out, discuss big questions, share experiences, get inspired by other people's stories, credible movies, Brazilian music, languages, past and present... I don't believe in moon landing but I do in both Windows and Mac

Music, Movies, and Books

"The bartender hates you" and different cult stuff from youtube; wingsuiters; French movies of the 80-90s, historic movies on Versailles, Les amants du flore; random American movies I just come across (Kwik stop, Slacker, Safe Haven, Modern affaire, Puccini for beginners, The rum diary)
French litterature in general and books with interesting vocabulary (Nick Cave: the ass saw the angel for its overwhelming vocabulary)
Ruffin: Rouge Brésil, Bill Bryson: Mother Tongue, Down Under,
The English-French dictionary in Harrap's edition and in a couple of others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been around the world twice as a seafarer which was too fast. Now I voyage on my own and take my time to discover the land beyond ports and most importantly the people without being a tourist

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you French or German and cook some non-exotic dishes based on bacon, sausage, potato... exotic would be Caribbean seafood which I can't prepare
