Hello!
I recently completed my Master's in Chemical Engineering and am now eager to do a bit of travelling before I jump into work life. I was born in Texas, USA and moved to Kolkata, India at a young age, where I grew up. As a child my parents would take me several places around the world and they have instilled in me the love for travel, exploration and meeting new people. Having spent considerable amounts of time in two very different continents, and also spending time visiting several countries I have learnt to appreciate diverse cultures and experiences and can't wait to go on adventures around the world. I am very passionate about music and theatre and also love to write and hope that these adventures shall inspire me and help get in touch with myself and the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always enjoyed meeting new people, making friends and exploring a country as a local rather than as a tourist. I am thrilled by the idea of living with a local family and experiencing first hand the culture and daily lives of those living in the country I'm visiting and will be able to learn so much more about the place. Couchsurfing will allow me to do exactly that as well as help me travel on a budget.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to sing and heave been trained in Hindustani Classical music for several years. I also very much enjoy Classic Rock, my favourite bands are Pink Floyd, The Doors and The Beatles. I love watching old classics and my favourite movies include The Sound of Music, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Psycho to name a few. I like reading mystery thrillers and Agatha Christie is one of my favourite authors; I also love to read classics, Charles Dickens being a particular favourite.
