Hey, I'm Tim and I live in Meppel. I'm a positive minded person and I see opportunities everywhere. In 2013 I made my first 'real' trip and I loved it so much that I can't stop travelling anymore.

I love meeting new people, sharing opinions, talk about life and do a lot of crazy stuff. I want to get as much out of a day as possible.

In 2013 I first went to South- Africa for three months what I enjoyed a lot and was pretty amazing. I hitchhiked through Europe.
In 2016 I went back to Africa and the trip evolved in a way I didn't expect. I went to seven soutern African countries and did some volunteering that wasn't planned. I mentored two teachers, I painted a school and made it more educationally attractive.
Last winter I did a roadtrip to Poland with a friend.
My upcoming trip for this winter is Mallorca and in January I will travel for three months in South- America, starting on Curaçao.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have been to a couchsurf meeting in Dubai on 20-04-'13. I liked it very much because you meet a lot of people with the same mindset. Also a lot of insiders that can tell you a lot about the place you are at the moment. The day after the meeting I went to a nice beach that someone recommended on that meeting.

In Munich I had my first 'sleep' couchsurfing experience during my hitchhiking trip through Europe and I really liked it. I went with my host to a 'biergarten' and we ate a 'weisswurst', a typical sausage from Munich.
I just started hosting and so far I really enjoy it. Met some amazing people that I would love to meet again soon!

Travelling, sight seeing.
Love to visit thriftshops, and I make and renovate furniture. Just bought a Lada Niva that I'm repairing and want to use on my next roadtrip next summer.
Love meeting new people, I enjoy a drink, good conversations and sitting around a bonfire.

My music taste is quite divers. I have been for example to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I went to the music festival, Splash Fen (SA), Sziget (H) and Pinkpop (NL).

Accidentally swam with a crocodile and he scared the shit out of me. (MAL)
Went after a group of Elephants on a small boat in the Okavanga Delta. (BOT)
Ran after a Giraffe in a national park near Gabarone. (BOT)
I was soaked when visiting the massive Victoria falls. (ZAM)
Climbing the Table mountain in Cape Town (SA) and it felt like I was standing on top of the world with a spectacular view.
Swimming with penguins in Simons Town, near a beach with the biggest rocks I've ever seen. (SA)
The most impressive night full of stars and the milkyway in the middle of nowhere. (SA)
Bungee jumping from the highest bungee bridge in the world. (SA)
I've met a lot of lovely people in South- Africa and I planned a hitchhike trip through Europe so I could meet them all again and I loved it!
I fed large seaturtles in Kefelonia (GR)
