Hey I am Tingting, a Chinese student living in Auckland. I left China when I was 18 and have been living in New Zealand for almost three years now. I am currently in my second year of Bachelor of Social Work in the University of Auckland and part time working for a local government-funded organization called IDEA (Intellectual Disability Empowerment Action). I moved from places to places before finally "settling down" in a castle-like house located in a popular but peaceful district near the Auckland CBD. It's a vegetarian community consisting of 21 residents (Not everyone is vegetarian but I guess it's a way of living the house is promoting). Half of the people are local kiwis while others coming from all over the world. Going back to talk about me...I like reading, walking, drawing random cartoons to the people I like or about the things I like or hate or feel funny about, writing, public speech, good music and movies of all sorts. Well basically except for ginger, beetroot, cinnamon, beer,fleas...and maybe the idea of Random cuddle puddle...I like everything. I am currently learning Shaolin Kung Fu and really want to do horse riding (when the day comes...). I have travelled a bit since I was a teenager (Australia, Europe, NZ... I said a bit...). I am very passionate about Chinese culture and had some experience of mandarine tutoring and I have been doing Chinese calligraphy since I was 7 year old. So...that's a bit or a lot about me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe it's a great way to meet interesting travellers and do something which might be helpful in other people's travelling journey. Well, as one day, we are all gonna start ours in whatever way and we need this kindness as well. Also if I travel, I would like to meet nice locals who can give me some insight about the place I am visiting.
