ABOUT ME

56 years old (M).
my biggest passion in life is travelling, mostly backpacking. exploring far away places and staying away from the tourist-traps.don`t mind to rough it sometimes,- I am no softie!
dedicate a lot of time (at least an hour every day) to doing Yoga. would like to learn more about yoga and may be one day be able to teach.
I like the simple pleasures in life,- to watch a beautiful sunrise or sunset, to enjoy a good meal, to read a good book, spend time talking to a good friend,watch a good movie,go for a walk, ride the bicycle. sounds boring? it isn`t!
at the moment I am taking some time off from work to travel the southern part of Norway by bicycle. all I need is a bit of sunshine and friedly people along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

don`t take yourself (myself) too serious!
never give up hope!
I don`t care much for organized religions,- they are the cause of many problems in this world.
Live and let live!
this is a beautiful world we live in and if we all share and care a little more we can keep it that way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Due to the fact that I am a modern day Nomad and I don't have a permanent home I can't offer a couch but as a couchsurfer I always try my best to give my hosts the experience of a lifetime, treating them with respect and gratitude.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have been a member for more than four years and all my couchsurfing-experiences ( more than a dozen ) were positive.

Interests

I might have mentioned it already in the section `all about me` but anyway,.....
I love the outdoors and nature and any activity that involves going outdoors,- walking, swimming, cycling.
Yoga plays a big part in my life and I rarely miss a day without practicing for at least one hour.
if the weather permits I like to do Yoga outside, too.
during the last twenty years of my life I have been travelling very extensively. I have been to all five continents. I enjoy spending time with indiginous people and learn from there cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: I like to watch some of the old stuff, like `Deer Hunter` with Robert De Niro or `The Godfather` with Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. I also like the movies by Jim Jarmusch and Wim Wenders.
music: anything that rocks!!
books: I read and have read a big variety of books,-both fiction and non fiction. my favourite authors are John Steinbeck, Walt Withman, David Thoreau, Hermann Hesse, Heinrich Boell,........

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

climbing a volcano
watching the polar lights ( aurealis australis )
a three month cycling-trip through northern brazil. Cycling across Canada, coast to coast.
