Explore South America, meet awesome people, surf, eat good food, live life fearlessly.
I quit my job as a programmer at a tech company in San Francisco and put all my stuff in storage so I can travel around South America for a year. It's been a dream of mine for a long long time.
I love to surf and travel and rock climb and see all the awesome places this planet provides for us to enjoy. But I'm also kind of a nerd. I love computers and video games and photography, coffee shops, good food, riding bicycles, playing jazz piano, hanging out in the park with friends. I grew up in Hawaii and have lived in the mountains in Colorado. Currently living in the city of San Francisco and loving it. I love to laugh and joke around and meet people, but I can be kind of reserved and probably too cautious sometimes. I'm one of those Nice Guys.
Live fearlessly and spread the love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I'm not doing much to contribute to the project since I'm traveling by myself around South America and have never hosted anybody. But when I'm settled down again I want to host people.
I'm a newbie. My friends have hosted and I've met lots of couchsurfers, but this is my first time trying it out.
Surfing, music, video games, travel, computers, politics, history, photography, good books, good food.

Music, Movies, and Books
Tough question. My tastes are eclectic and varied.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm. I think my whole life has been pretty amazing, but it's hard to distill down into bite-size chunks. I've never done anything that would get me into a newspaper (except when they announced my school plays in the paper when I was in high school). But I've seen lots of beautiful places, surfed some amazing waves, had lots of close encounters with wildlife... Dunno!
