ABOUT ME

Hey hey! I am a female (with a misleading name) who grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia in the United States of America. I spent summers in Thailand as a kid and haven't gotten the opportunity to travel much since them. I am very very new to couch-surfing and thus a little nervous so please bear with me and my shyness!

I am currently studying abroad in Florence, Italy. My italian is so-so.

I have been working since I was 12 mostly in restaurants, bars, and coffee-shops but my most recent endeavor was working as an Activities Aide in the Dementia/Protective Care Unit of a nursing home in Philly. Wow. I'm a worker trying to work out this whole traveling thing!

Interests

Cultural through food, world religions, yoga, sainthood and spirituality, nutrition and health, dementia/Alzheimers.

I love to experience the dining/cooking/food culture wherever I go. I like to walk/wander around a lot and enjoy anytime I can spend in natural surroundings. I practice yoga and observe Catholicism. I love animals!! Especially cozy dogs but I have also had a pet snake, iguana, and a miniature horse. Someday I hope to have a pygmy goat!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 11 I was a kid report for TIME magazine for kids. During this experience I interviewed Jason Kidd (of the New Jersey Nets NBA basketball team), Pop star Jewel, Kid rapper Lil' Bow Wow, NYC fire-fighters post- 9/11, Lil J, and attended the FIRST kid's conference at the United Nations...do they still do that?

On an archeological dig I found the first rib of the first body of an ancient burial pit!
