ABOUT ME

I just graduated from college and will be going to Bordeaux, France in September to teach english to french high-schoolers. I studied french in school, but I have a passion for all languages and speak a little japanese and a little german. I'm a big believer in the value of traveling the world, as I think it opens your mind and lets you experience things you would never dream of otherwise.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to explore all facets of human culture and get to know as much about the world as I can. If I could visit every nation on the planet, I would.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'm just looking for couches, although as soon as I get set up wherever that may be, I will have a couch available for surfing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far, although I have friends who have done it and had really great experiences.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music: almost anything, especially rap and heavy metal. I also really enjoy Texas music, as well as jazz, classic rock...pretty much any kind of music.

Movies: too many to count. Recommend a good movie and I'm interested in seeing it. Bad movies, too.

Books: I like sci-fi/fantasy things, especially LOTR and the His Dark Materials trilogy. I also enjoy a lot of the literature that comes out of the French Caribbean and west Africa. Right now I'm on a kick of reading books exploring religion and how it plays into our societies

I have lived in Japan, Romania, Bulgaria and the USA. I've worked at a US embassy. I have spoken Japanese as more or less my first language. I have been mugged at knifepoint for video game tokens.

Never ask what's in the dishes you're eating until after you finish eating it. Turns out it might be something like a raw horse.
