Interests

Well, I am a trained gardener and worked for several years on organic farms. The good old times of backbreaking labor are over, but I still love gardening and I am very interested in growing flowers as well as vegetables, shrubs and trees (especially fruit trees). I think the permaculture concept is quite fascinating and can benefit both, man and nature.
I studied landscape ecology in Osnabrück (Germany) and I am working now for a company in northern Germany. My job is to evaluate the impact of wind turbines on birds and bats. But I also do field work such as bird and bat monitoring.
I am very much interested in conservation issues and I work as volunteer here in Germany. The work mainly aims on bat conservation which means creating, restoring or protecting hibernation roosts. It’s usually hard physical labor in old mountain tunnels or bunkers. But it’s totally worth it. I also monitor or install nesting boxes for the little owl (Athene noctua) which is a typical but endangered species in my home region.
In my free time I like to meet my friends, a good chitchat, hiking and birding, swimming, good food, watching movies or just relaxing.
I did a lot of travelling and met many nice people from all over the world which was great. Now I want to focus on Europe which is such a great place to be.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of different Music; jazz, classic but also punk and rock. Bands I listen to at the Moment are Social Distortion, Blitzkid , Squirrel Nutzippers and The legendary John Coltrane.
