About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting younger day by day

ABOUT ME

I'm a guitarist. I love music, learning, books and dogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm travelling around South America at the moment and will set up a couch on my return (with a full English breakfast for all guests, it's the only way to fly).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I've only stayed with and hosted travellers I've already met, but I loved the experience of seeing a place through local eyes and exploring it with local knowledge.

I've heard so many good things about CS on the road that I had to give it a go!

Interests

Music, reading, films, travel.

There are many others, but they're probably footnotes to those four.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Blues, folk, rock, funk. Skip James, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Tallest Man on Earth, Neil Young, Chromeo, James Brown.

Books: I like a wide range; modern Americans like Bukowski and Hunter S Thompson, very old stuff like the Aenied, comedy (PG Wodehouse is the undoubted master) and I'm always ploughing through the classics. I'm always looking for recommendations.

Movies: I love film noir and the neo-noirs like Brick and LA Confidential. The Coen brothers have never let me down. I haven't been to the cinema enough recently, to my continuing shame.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran the London marathon with my injured older brother and hero, Mark.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been playing the guitar for 11 years and have picked up the mandolin and very basic harmonica for fun.

I've got functional/almost conversation Spanish.

I could talk to you all night about books, music and maybe films. I could listen for longer.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Cambodia, India, Laos, Malaysia, Peru, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
