ABOUT ME

I have always loved to travel. I took Russian in high school and our class took a trip to the USSR in 1967. We visited Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, Moscow and Kiev. We also had stops in Amsterdam and London. My eyes were opened to the world and since that first trip back I have loved the excitement and enrichment obtained from meeting new people and seeing the world. In the summer of 1971 I traveled all around Europe on a Eurail pass. I enjoyed it so very much that after one year of university I returned to Europe bought a V.W. Kombi and traveled around for a year.

I am now retired..October 2010... and our two daughters have moved to NYC. We have this big old house with two empty bedrooms. Come make yourself at home.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I happened upon this site while reading an article in the New York Times. I think it is a great idea and would be happy to participate in this wonderful program. My sense is that most of the people involved in the community are younger than my wife and I. We are open to hosting people of any age.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So many people have opened up their homes to me in my many travels around the world. When I traveled around Europe back in the sixties I would often give my address to people I would meet and tell them to stop by and stay with me with they ever got to the States. Several people did a boy from Germany and a crazy lad from Australia stayed several weeks.
