Since joining couchsurfing in 2015 I threw caution to the wind. I gave up my apartment, handed in my resignation at my job, and started a new life on the road. I wanted to see the world on what little funds I had saved. There must be more to life than sitting in an office all day, dreaming of the sun!

I went to New Zealand for just over a year on a working holiday visa, then traveled around SE Asia for a few months before returning to Canada. I'm now in the process of finding a new job here at home so I can save up and head out on a new adventure!

I'm actually pretty shy when I meet new people, so I hoped that traveling alone would force me to leave my comfort zone and actually initiate conversation with new people - and it did! I made so many new friends from all over the world, I'm now officially hooked on traveling and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Previously I lived in hostels as I traveled, but in traveling for almost 1.5 years I found that used most of my savings so I'm hoping to start using Couchsurfing for my next adventure.

If all this works out well for me, I'd be happy to open my home once I settle down (if that ever happens!) I've always loved hosting parties and get-togethers for all my friends, and I look forward to the day that those parties will include my new friends from around the world.

Interests

Taking pictures (I'm not a professional by any means, even my selfies need lots of work!); reading; learning new things; spending time with friends; traveling. I also learned while in Mexico that I love snorkeling! Who knew! Next goal is scuba diving...

Music, Movies, and Books

I like lots of music, as long as I can sing along; I love watching movies, from action/adventure to documentary to Rom-Com (but the boy MUST get the girl in the end!) I don't read as much as I used to, but I enjoy poetry, scifi/fantasy, fiction and Austen. Pretty much anything with a good story.
