About Me

Hi there --My name's Trisha and I am 24ish and living in the bay area in California. I'm looking to travel this summer and am contemplating a road trip across the United States.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people! I mainly couchsurfed when I was an English teacher living in the Czech Republic. I've slept on couches in Barcelona, Prague, Krakow and Budapest. Being able to meet people who actually live in those cities, see how they live and have fun on their own time, and being welcomed into their lives is lovely! I love listening to how people got from where they were from to where they are now. It's an an incredibly gratifying experience.

Interests

Literature, photography, writing, knitting, fashion, local culture, food!, hiking, yoga, zine/DIY culture.

I sometimes keep a personal blog that focuses on literature, culture, and place. Even if I cannot stay on your couch I would love to hear about interesting things that you do whether it relates to geography, literature, art, or activism! You can see it here: aworldlyword.wordpress.com

I also co-edit a creative writing magazine called Oatmeal Magazine--it's dedicated to warm and fuzzy writing of all types. Check it out here: oatmealmagazine.com

Music, Movies & Books

Movies: Cloud Atlas (it was also a really good book!), films by Wes Anderson, Before Sunrise, ... and on but I can never really remember when people ask me...

Authors: Jonathan Safran Foer, Zadie Smith, Thomas Pynchon, Roberto Bolano, John Milton. Oh and of course Virginia Woolf.

Music: blackpolygons.bandcamp.com

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I once rode from Los Angeles to Berkeley in a 1984 Mercedes that ran on vegetable oil. The owner was an English professor who did yoga, was a raw foodie, and loved Milton. The whole trip we talked about Yoga to the People and our favorite recipe for kale salad. Lovely.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to knit, swing dance, and Polynesian dance!

If you can teach me how to ski or snowboard, I can bake you scones in return.

Countries I've Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Philippines, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I've Lived In
