About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Retire early so I can travel a lot!!

ABOUT ME

I am the national sales trainer for a large multi-National Medical device company. My job requires that I travel for business, but whenever I travel outside the United States, I always try to build in some personal time so that I can explore the country I am in, see its' sites & meet the local people. I love learning about a country's history, culture, & cuisine, and meeting locals wherever I go!

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard so that I can play hard.

Be nice to everyone you meet on the way up the corporate ladder--you may meet them again on the way down!

If money can fix the problem, it's not that serious of a problem.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am brand new to this site, so still figuring this part out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet.

Interests

Cooking. In my early 20's I thought I wanted to be a chef, but before spending tens of thousands of dollar$ on culinary school, my father wisely decided I should work in the industry first in order to determine if that was the career I wanted to pursue. Through a fortuitous series of contacts & introductions I got a job working for one of the premier celebrity chefs in the United States. After several years working for him I decided that the restaurant business was not for me, but as a result of that experience I can plan & prepare a gourmet meal for big groups. Not bragging, but friends & family fight to attend my dinner parties!

Besides that, I love to travel (obviously) and scuba dive. My brother is somewhat responsible for getting me into both; we normally take one or two big trips together each year, and they often involve diving.

Additionally, I am a HUGE dog lover. I currently have two dogs, Buster & Daisy, whom I adore--it's great to return home after a hard day at work & be greeted by two furiously wagging tails!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read, but my job is extremely intense & competive, so I don't have a lot of free time to read for fun. Although I read a lot--& often several books at once--typically they are work-related, & as such not worth mentioning here.

Music: Top 40, music from the 80's, Big band, swing, soft jazz. My first concert was Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Night diving in 5000+ feet of water a mile out to see off the coast of Hawaii. The dive is called the "Deep water Magic Palagic Night Dive" and it is too crazy to even try and describe. Take a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDzI9KaiEZI

Night diving with massive manta rays.
Snorkeling with dozens of dolphins.
Provided the financing for an orphanage in India.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I can definitely teach a person how to cook.

I love good wine, & since part of my job involves taking doctors out to dinner, I have a fair amount of experience drinking expensive wine. Meet me out somewhere and I'll share a bottle with you!
