to make this big world around me just a tiny bit smaller!
I'm just me...learning to be! I travel a bit and enjoy meeting all kinds of people along the way. I'm enjoy meeting new people...making new friends from time to time. The world is a big place...I want to make my world just a little bit smaller and not quite so scary. :)
As Albert Einstein said..."The world is a dangerous place...not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." I want to make the world just a little bit safer somehow in my lifetime. I believe that all people are basically good. And I want to bring out that good in all I meet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I actually just found out about couchsurfing.com...a friend put me onto it when I told her that sometimes in my travels I just stay on the street. Now that I'm here I want to get as involved as possible. As I find out more, I'm sure I'll be hosting as well as volunteering!
I have only couch surfed up to now on the couches of friends...even some that I have only known through online chatting. I am currently staying with a family that I met online just a bit ago as I look for housing for housing in the MA area. I'm hoping to be in that area and able to offer my own couch to other surfers by this time next month. It really is an awesome experience!
I am so interested in so many things I can't even really list them all! I love animals and nature. Music and quiet times too. I absolutely adore meeting new people and trying out new experiences. The world is my playground, and I just go with what she gives me. :) There isn't much that doesn't interest me!
Music, Movies, and Books
I love the hip hop/R and B scene best, but there isn't much music that doesn't interest me. I love meeting and learning about differnt cultures and ethnic groups. I love horror movies and books...as well as children's movies and books too. Again...not much that can't hold my interest.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I survived hurricane Katrina...and I saw people pull together...people that were so down and out...I saw us pull together and live together and carry ourselves through a terrible time. That was amazing to me. Just me myself...I lived with 28 room mates in a one bedroom apt for months after the storm...all of us crammed in and making it work for each other. Survivors. Just totally awesome. That took work and perserverance. And it was just totally amazing and we loved it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Again...it's back to that Albert Einstein quote I mentioned earlier. Each person is responsible for making this world a better, safer place for ourselves as well as our fellow men. That's what I want to learn and share and teach...how to make this world a better, safer place. To watch out for my fellow man...there is no better way to grow.
