About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Juggling school, academia, friends, travelling, ...

ABOUT ME

-- WHO I AM? tough one
spontaneous, attitude "I know nothing - teach me!", curious, deep thinker (sometimes), reader, dance as if I was drunk, convinced of civil liberties, traveller of course, like people that aren't afraid of embarrasing themselves, atheist and willing to talk about it, anyway: on s'arrange (something I learned in good old Wallonia)!

I am a student for liberal arts and sciences, which is a highly demanding program. So oftentimes I have to study and I am uncertain whether I can spend time with you. But simply ask me and I will tell you if I can.

By the way: This used to be the common profile of Florian and Ingmar but since each member may only have one profile this is Ingmar's now and Florian has his own (florianb88).

PHILOSOPHY

Make the life of others as joyful as you would want your own to be.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently a very active surfer but not so much a hoster. Karma will probably turn on me soon or maybe I've been a good enough surfer to have some credit after all.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Together with a good friend of mine - Florian B. - I have toured the USA, mainly surfing couches. The experience was better than any 5-star-hotels could have offered. 'nough said?

Since, I have been to various countries and almost all of my experiences were positive. Some people I met were so much like me that I felt like I found a soul mate others were so different that I was simply stunned. I enjoyed both extremes and all experiences, even the bad ones, gave me new insights.

Interests

Activities I persue include (but are definitely not limited to): Photography, travelling and learning new languages, acting on stage, reading novels and good movies.

Music, Movies & Books

Films: All I've seen by Paul Haggins was phantastic! The life of others, Indiana Jones, Lions for Lambs, In Bruges, Thank you for Smoking...
Books: Lonely Planet Travel Guides, der vorleser, fight club, a people's history of the US, a year in the merde....
Music: I'm trying everything and enjoy most, lots of German folk I really dislike and songs that have been played too often on the radio

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Naming only one wouldn't do justice...

Being invited into a house by a Maroccan man who I've never seen and enjoying the view from the 13th floor of nighttime Liège.

Sunset at Joshua Tree National Park.

Eating Tarantulas in Cambodia.

Having gone to an American inner city school for one year.

I've lived and studied in Taipei, Taiwan for a half year.

Teach, Learn, Share

Languages, logic, some cooking... etc.. Several times I have acted on stage. I could teach English and German, would love to learn other languages in return.

Countries I've Visited

Belgium, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Morocco, Netherlands, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom
