About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find people to share a gin and tonic with around the world

ABOUT ME

Part-time partier, part-time early rising serious type. Pseudo-intellectual, queer, coffee and booze hound (not in a bad way!). Enjoy a drink and a dance, but also expect me to have my head buried in a book, or watching a painfully long obscure arthouse movie, or in a museum feeling bad about my levels of knowledge about Mesopotamia. I'm really friendly and curious about people. I hope to meet many during the 9 months I'll be traveling alone.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep moving.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couchsurfing.com, but not the concept...see below. I wanna host and be hosted!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Barely a week has gone by since I've lived in London without hosting friends or friends of friends, or even acquaintances of acquaintances on my sofa. I've been lucky enough to have the favours returned when I've gone on trips. Love showing people around my town, and indeed love going somewhere and seeing a town from a person's point of view, not a guide book's.

Interests

Literature. Yeah saying "literature" not just "books" means I'm one of those pretentious idiots who sneers at Dan Brown whilst he smugly reads Dostoevski. ha.

Movies - anything from Hollywood trash to obscure arthouse. The cinema is my second home! Often my livelihood too...several years working as an usher whilst studying and between other jobs.

Theatre.

Museums and galleries and wandering around cities, stopping off for hot strong black coffee on the way.

Drinking and dancing and making out. Queers around the world and their scenes and communities.

Running and bike rides.

Cooking, or at least attempts at it.
